St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association Announces the Start of the Silent Auction for St. Maarten Flavors 2024

St. Maarten, September 1, 2024 — The St. Maarten Hospitality & Trade Association (SHTA) is excited to announce the launch of the Silent Auction as part of St. Maarten Flavors 2024, a premier culinary celebration showcasing the best of the island's gastronomic offerings. This year’s auction, running from September 1st to November 30th, presents a unique opportunity to bid on an array of fantastic items, all starting at just 50% of their actual value.

From luxurious hotel stays and fun activities to exclusive tickets for Winair destinations, there’s something for everyone. As the auction progresses, even more items will be added, ensuring there are always new and exciting opportunities for participants. Bidding takes place online at www.stmaartenflavors.com, where all items are showcased.

St. Maarten Flavors is an island-wide culinary event that runs throughout November, featuring a diverse lineup of restaurants and bars offering special prix-fixed menus and signature dishes at affordable rates. This month-long celebration invites both locals and visitors to explore the diverse and dynamic culinary landscape of St. Maarten, known as the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean.

Participating restaurants will present curated menus that highlight the best of local and international cuisine, with an emphasis on fresh, high-quality ingredients and innovative cooking techniques. St. Maarten Flavors will shine a spotlight on the island’s rich culinary heritage, highlighting five key cuisines that define St. Maarten’s dynamic food landscape: Caribbean, European, Americas, Asian, and Vegetarian.

All proceeds from the Silent Auction will support the St. Maarten culinary team’s participation in the Taste of the Caribbean competition in Miami. This prestigious event gathers the best chefs from across the Caribbean, offering a platform for them to showcase their skills and creativity on an international stage.

“We are incredibly grateful for the businesses that have already donated items to the auction,” said SHTA. “Their generosity is essential in helping our talented chefs represent St. Maarten and bring home honors from Miami.”

St. Maarten Flavors is celebrating its third edition and grateful for the sponsors supporting the event: St. Maarten Tourism Bureau, PDG Supplies, Orco Bank, Visit St. Maarten and Winair.
