St. Maarten Flavors Concludes with Resounding Success, Showcasing the Island as the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean

St. Maarten — December 3, 2024 - The annual St. Maarten Flavors event, which spanned the entire month of November, has concluded on a high note, marking a remarkable celebration of the island's vibrant culinary scene. With 28 participating restaurants, innovative campaigns, and generous contributions, the event demonstrated St. Maarten's reputation as a gastronomic destination in the Caribbean.

The event offered locals and visitors alike the opportunity to indulge in specially curated menus that highlighted the diverse culinary expertise on the island. The participating restaurants showcased their best dishes, making St. Maarten Flavors a true testament to the island's status as the Culinary Capital of the Caribbean.

One of the highlights of St. Maarten Flavors was its silent auction which raised over $8,000 through bids on donated hotel stays, activities, Winair flights and jewelry. Part of the proceeds will support the St. Maarten Culinary Team in the Taste of the Caribbean competition in Miami, where they will represent the island on an international stage.

The event also placed a spotlight on the National Institute for Professional Advancement (NIPA) culinary program during its kickoff party in late October. By involving local students and emerging culinary talents, St. Maarten Flavors fostered a platform for the next generation of chefs, ensuring the continuity of the island’s rich culinary traditions.

The event attracted widespread media attention from Europe, United States, Canada, Dominican Republic, Barbados and Trinidad & Tobago, welcoming coverage from traditional outlets such as magazines and online platforms, as well as modern influencers, including TikTok creators. This diverse representation amplified St. Maarten Flavors’ reach, ensuring its impact was felt far beyond the island's shores.

St. Maarten Flavors would not have been possible without the unwavering support of its partners and sponsors. We extend our deepest gratitude to the St. Maarten Tourist Bureau, as well as our sponsors: PDG Supplies, SOL, Orco Bank, Prime Distributors, Visit St. Maarten, SXM Talks, Island 92, The Daily Herald, Trakx, and Winair.

Additionally, we thank everyone who dined at participating restaurants, sharing their experiences and supporting local businesses. Your enthusiasm and participation were integral to the event’s success.
